Countdown to the Weekend: 10/26/2012

This Happy Place Blog

You guys, I feel very spoiled by all the awesome reads I’ve encountered this week. In fact, I still have a bunch unread in my Reader as I type this to you. I guess that means I have a lot to look forward to when I find some downtime this weekend.

One thing, if you are in New York this weekend, they are holding a special event at The Museum of the Moving Image dedicated to Jerry Nelson, the Muppeteer who died a few weeksa go. I was planning on going, but unfortunately, with moving… I’m a little tied up yet again. (Although next week there is another event and I am planning on being there!) This weekend’s event is first come first serve so if you are in the Queens area, be sure to get there early! (I also spy that Ryan from Muppet Mindset is attending — eek! An internet celeb!)

Now on to the links!

I love cupcakes! And Katherine from Food Fitness Fantasy made her own Brown Derby-inspired grapefruit cupcakes!

Katie (@kidanikatie) wrote about SANTA + BEER over at Beers and Ears. Two of my favorite things!

More awesome EPCOT pics from Nick’s impressive stash over at Fiesta Fun Center.

I’m not normally one for posting to the official Disney Parks Blog but I love how past & present come together in this ceremony at New Fantasyland! Such a sweet idea! (I know my dad will like this link too.)

Really fun signage + rare character pictures from stuff at the park. Bring those mice back!!

Rich at Mouse Troop shares some shots of his time on the Skyway in Disneyland.

Did someone say mimosas? I’m pretty sure Melissa at Disney on Wheels did.

While the Hipsters are having an awesome time in WDW right now (so jealous), they still add some vibrant energy to my Reader with a look at Up’s color script.

thanks for checking into this happy place blog this week! have a fantastic weekend!
