Muppet Monday: Let It Snow (Let it Work)

Happy Muppet Monday! Hope you had a great weekend!

Today I’m featuring a short clip featuring that crazy couple: Wayne and Wanda.

This song can be found toward the end of Season 1’s The Muppet Show. (In fact, this episode featured Twiggy, the model from the 60s. I never knew she could sing too!) Anyway, Sam the Eagle seems to be a little frustrated with the crap luck Wayne and Wanda seem to have when they are trying to be entertaining and romantic.

So here’s a little bit of “Let it Snow, Let it Snow.” (This is in no way a sign I want snow).

…those poor kids!

Fun fact about this song: It was actually written by Sammy Cahn in the middle of the summer on one of the hottest days ever Hollywood California. Cahn also penned one of other favorite Christmas carols, “The Christmas Waltz“, as well as “You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly” from Disney’s Peter Pan animated film!

But back to Wayne and Wanda for a second, I’m hoping they have a bigger role in the Muppet movie that will be released next year!

  1. Love Wayne and Wanda — One of my very favorite Muppet running gags!

Mr. Cahn is responsible for a lot of my favorite songs. Okay, now, I’m assuming you know about the version of “Christmas Waltz” sung by Belle, right? 🙂
