Yes to Wine & Dine Weekend

A few months ago, Katherine from Food Fitness Fantasy let the cat out of the bag. (Ha. We both have cute cats so this is so fitting.) I’m keeping one of my martini-filled promises and tagging along for her Wine & Dine weekend trip in a few short weeks. (It is coming up so soon!)

I guess it’s finally official because we got these in the mail yesterday:

And after many emails to one another IN LOTS OF CAPS LETTERS we were glad the (scary) Magic Bands came in the correct colors.

Anyway…

This trip is actually full of a lot of firsts for me. My first solo trip where I am going to be meeting friends in Florida, and not my family. My first trip with Katherine, of course! How about the fact that we made exactly zero dining reservations? (So unlike me.) And since Katherine will be running the Wine & Dine half marathon on Saturday night, it will be my first time attending a post-run after party in the parks. (I’m so looking forward to that.) And most importantly (as I keep telling Melissa from Mouse on the Mind), I get to experience Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights and just not move, ever. (This is my most coveted holiday park experience.)

Even though I’m feeling pretty laidback about our plans, I do have a few must-dos:

  • Enjoy my first peppermint mocha of the season from the Starbucks on Main Street.
  • Get my face painted. (I’ve been obsessed with this & Katherine is on-board.)
  • Food & Wine, of course!
  • Visit every park once since I’m not sure when I’ll be back.

After so many months of not knowing if another trip this year was possible, it’s been a relief to know I have a long weekend to look forward to, for sure. That sounds so obsessive but it’s completely true. Heading to WDW in November is one of my favorite times of year to hang out there, and I’m so so so excited.

Be sure to let me know if you are going to be down there too. I’d love to say hi!

P.S. Be sure to check out Katherine’s thoughts on our trip and the Magic Band experience so far!

  1. I also just FB messaged you lol. We have to meet up at some point. Cheryl and I will be there for the run as well! Can’t believe it is in two weeks! Magic Bands scared me at first but now I love them. Our hotel doesn’t have them this trip but we will be wearing them the whole time anyway since our season pass is linked and all our FastPass+ reservations. Let me know how you like them!
