2013 Happy Gift Guide: TheatEAR + Broadway

With The Lion King officially dubbed the 4th longest running musical in Broadway history on Sunday, it seems only fitting to be talking about gifts for those Broadway (and most importantly Disney on Broadway) fans on your shopping list.

I can’t stress enough how tickets are probably the best experience you can stuff in someone’s stocking. Don’t forget off-Broadway’s Peter and the Starcatcher closes in January and Newsies is running a great winter deal — buy 1 get 1 free tickets if you buy them before December 24th. If that’s not in the cards for you, here are few ideas to mull over!

Of course, we can’t forget Aladdin the Musical coming to Broadway in the early spring. The box office just opened yesterday and there have been a few sales lurking around.

And community theater? Such a great way to see live talent without breaking the bank. A few local favorites: Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey, John Engeman Theater in Long Island, and Gateway Playhouse in Long Island. (Even NJPac in Newark, NJ has a great lineup and is worth looking into!)

Here’s hoping this post brings you a little luck in all your shopping!
