Muppet Monday: Lots of Bacon

Some observations from the weekend:

  • We ate a lot of bacon when Sarah from Running at Disney came to visit on Sunday.
  • James and I are on the final episode of Season 2 of The Muppet Show.
  • This means we only have ONE MORE SEASON LEFT TO WATCH ON DVD.
  • Time to start writing some very convincing letters to Disney.

After a great Sunday spent mostly outdoors (at the site of the World’s Fair!), we decided to settle in for an episode of The Muppet Show to get inspired. And it worked! The last episode of Season 2 has Cloris Leachman (she also had a cameo in The Muppet Movie) and THE PIGS TAKE OVER THE SHOW. Like literally take over the show. (Hence the title of this post.)

Obviously, Miss Piggy is seriously CONFLICTED over this change in management at the show. Worry about Kermit who is locked up somewhere or star in the episode? How will she ever make this tough life decision…

In case you were curious, here’s the new host. Kermit the Pig.

Um. yeah. Not exactly the best looking Muppet ever.

But I did love the opening number! Here it is:

Have you ever seen so many pigs in one place? I love it! Plus I sang “That’s Entertainment” in choir during fourth grade. I still remember all the words. The song is from a 1952 musical called The Band Wagon.

All in all, a great way to end Season 2. I love the creativity here, especially as the other characters to react to Kermit’s kidnapping and the different pig Muppets that were made to look like their actual Muppet counterparts. Plus a very cute twist at the end. It probably ranks as one of my favorite episodes ever!

Here’s hoping your week is scrumptious! (Maybe we should go vegetarian today…?)
