Hello! So last week, I spilled the beans and told you I was going on v-a-c-a-t-i-o-n! (We’re going to have a ball!) My gal pal Alex from Practically Imperfect joined in the fun as she counts down to her own Wine & Dine vacation.
Now that we’re all caught up, I’m limiting myself to 10 things I’m looking forward to in November. Get excited!
1. Rest and relaxation.
I know a lot of folks don’t believe these two things exist on a WDW trip but they do and they will because I need it. My trips down to Florida are always pretty short so I need to remind myself to slow down and take a breather. I don’t want to run around for four days straight just to jump back into work when I return. Fingers crossed for swimming weather. I want to try the Nemo pool at Art of Animation Resort!
2. The return of the Jingle Cruise.
It’s baaaaaaaaack. As co-president of the holiday overlay at the Jungle Cruise, I am pumped to see what kind of changes they fold into the ride this holiday season. Keep in the mind that the best part is having an awesome cruise captain but I’m hoping for a few Santa hats on some of the animals. They need some holiday spirit too!
3. Peppermint mocha on Main Street.
The start of a new tradition? Perhaps. Last year, Katherine, Keith from The Disney Project, and I shared a special moment when we drank some Starbucks and listened to the holiday tunes around the park. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip. I plan on holding out for my first dose of peppermint-y goodness until a nice crisp evening in Magic Kingdom.
4. New Harambe at Animal Kingdom.
My heart practically beats for Harambe, friends. I plan on spending as much time as I can exploring the expansion of Africa and checking out my old friends at The Festival of the Lion King. During November, DAK is only open until 5 p.m. or so I am hoping to get a “full day” of work in roaming around and enjoying. (Plus a stop at the Dawa Bar, thank you!) Be sure to check out At Disney Again’s tour of the new digs.
5. Osborne Lights at Hollywood Studios.
I pretty much had hearts in my eyes when I saw the Osborne Lights for the first time last year, but it wasn’t enough of time. I was overtired from the night before, I was in a rush to see Illuminations (which looking back was silly), and I just… wanted to spend more time looking and loving all the music and bright lights. It’s the ultimate stop for a holiday fan like me. Note to self: enjoy this more!
6. Will there be pumpkin ice cream in France?
When Keith reported back about his recent trip to say goodbye to Maelstrom, he talked about a lot but all I read was PUMPKIN SPICE ICE CREAM. I need this. Will I find it? Will it be replaced by something winter-y? Let’s not dramatic but I will HURT SOMEONE, er, BE VERY UPSET if that’s true. Plus I keep saying how I want to eat ice cream in France, and I forget each and every trip.
7. Enjoy some unlimited girl time.
Even though I’m traveling with two companions I see relatively often, it will be so nice to have such a full amount of time to catch up and chit chat. There is just not enough of time in a week or a month to have this kind of luxury, and I am so looking forward to it. (Plus getting to know some new people too — hello roomies!)
8. Hearing my favorite background loops “live”.
I’m such a BGM junkie that I can get all emotional about listening to Illuminations at my desk at work… but there’s nothing like hearing it in the actual place. I love loops from all the parks (I just tried to say Epcot was my favorite but… can’t!) so I cannot wait to make a new simple moment and take it all in. (With ice cream, of course.)
9. Taking pictures with my (fingers crossed) new iPhone and more with my Instax.
I’m always amazed the things I don’t take pictures of so I try to go on trips with at least two goals for future posts. Oh, and maybe this time, I won’t forget my Instax pictures in the resort and get really depressed about it. (True story. Also reminder I need to do a post with more of those pictures!)
10. Make a pit stop at the BoardWalk.
I don’t have much of an itinerary but a trip to the World is not complete without a visit to my old stomping grounds. It also means I could take a Friendship boat. Score!
I am WAY WAY excited about these 10 things, but, really, I am SO excited just to be there.
Be sure to say hi to Alex to see what she is looking forward to most. (Guys, she’s going on a Cruise. I HATE ER LOVE HER.)
